The screen stays on a real short time then goes out. the power light stays on. when i shut it off and turn it on it does the same thing. the monitor does this even when disconnected from my computer. any help would be great

The problem is in the power supply board usually caused by bad capacitors, they often bulge at the top and become open or near open, but regardless they must be changed with high temperature low ESR replacements.
Monitors have video pictures flashes a few sec.than dies,not the power supply board is the problems,it is the long board call LCD inverter board is dead and the causes,this board help to make the LCD screen to have a backlight to produced a video picture.
