The sediment filter on my culligan water softener is tight. i already broke a plastic filter wrench on it. do you turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to loosen it? i have a new wrench but this is stuck tight

Turn the incoming water off. Go to nearest faucet, run water to relieve pressure. Turn of water at outlet of filter, If filter has a pressure relief valve (red button on top) hold it down while taking housing off. Apply silicone lube to housing threads on re-install. Only tighten by hand, DO NOT use filter wrench to put housing back on.
