The service person replaced the fusible link on my LAARS Lite 2 heater. It worked for a while, but then it stopped (won't turn on or heat). I removed the two wires from the fusible link and shorted them together and the heater starts to work again. Why is the fusible link burning out? It has an automatic pilot light and Natural gas supply. What are the possibilities and where do I look

The fuse link is a saftey for flame that is rolling up into the cabnet,There are a few things that will make this happen, down drafting from wind, cloged flue, burners cloged, gas pressure.Turn it on with the cover off and stand back look to see if any flames are rolliing up near the fuse link.
