The stainless steel face on my over the range microwave is coming loose. It is attached to the door with a foam tape. I am trying to identify the right kind of appliance rated foam to re-adhere it

Microwaves are trapped within the oven cavity and do not enter the area outside of it. Metal reflects microwaves as does the mesh across the oven door. You can buy a strip of adhesive foam of reasonable density from your local hardware store which will serve the purpose.
