The system comments that this is not a usb 2 device
Dear hearts
Just plugged in the VIA Vectro VT6212L 4 Port USB 2 PCI Host Controller to my old Duron Athlon motherboard and when i connect usb 2 devices the balloon pops up and says it would be better to connect this device via a faster usb2 interface ... well i reckon it shouldnt be saying that if this PCI interface is working properly unless it is working at optimum speed and i can ignore the comments. Is there any way i can check the speed transfer rates ?

First thing is that message just means that your device will work at a reduced speed
second is that a high speed port or enhanced usb port is required to work it at enhanced speeds
to check if your usb port is enhanced goto : control panel / system properties / hardware tab / device mannager / then scroll down to usb controllers and see if it says enhanced next to your usb port if it does then you will need to get the updated usb driver for the enhanced speed

well then if your 4 hub does not support high speed then it won't work but if it does then you will need then drivers for it work at the high speed rate
