The system will go from working fine, then show searching and show up with no source found. At times the picture will gain a red tint prior to flickering off and showing no source found. Does this seem like a cable problem or a setting problem ?
To me it sounds like the cable is at fault and not settings issue. The reason is you mentioned the red tint and no source. This happens when the connection is loose or possible a short. Try re-connecting the cable, and you could also twist it a little bit to test for a short. Also you could try another output cable? Doesn't sound like a settings problem but rather a loose connection. Let me know how this works.
Does this happen to the projector for any input or a specific device? If it's any device that happens then check the cable from the projector to the receiver. I'm pretty sure the cable used with this model is HDMI.
