The top thread is catching on the bobbin on my singer 5430C when I sew
I have changed the needle, bobbin, rethreaded it a million time. A couple of times it sewed correctly for about 5 inches before it started again.

Bobbin hook may be damaged and need to be filed to smooth rough spots. Remove hook. Use green bar, or very fine sand paper and work on damaged area until smooth.
