The turntable on my CR245 does not play records. The arm will not sit down or stay down on the record. The arm lifts up and returns to the arm rest and shuts down. I recorded 3 records to CDs and then it just quit working. I verified that the turntable suspension screw is all the way down
The pressure on the needle is usually contolled by a light spring in the underside of the arm.
It sound as if this has either broken or become detatched. Look under the arm for the spring and relocate it if it has come off. If it has broken you need to buy one that is suitable for your particular model and none other, as the force on the needle is critical.
Haven't worked on one of these, but there is an end of travel arm sensor that needs adjustment, or is possible broken. You will have to get inside to check it out, and adjust or fix it. If you don't feel comfortable fixing it yourself, contact Crosley support: http://www.crosleyradio.com/supportForm.aspx Good luck, and hope this helps.
