The turntable stops during cooking
The turntable in my Sharp R-930AK has begun to stop turning during the cooking cycles whether I'm using microwave, conventional, or convection cooking. If I open the door and spin the turntable, then shut the door and restart the appliance, sometimes the turntable will begin to turn again and continue to turn until completion, but not always. Is this something that can be fixed? It doesn't appear that the heating is affected but the appliance is 9 years old.

It is possible that you have a short in the wiring going to the turntable motor, or perhaps your turntable motor is about to give out on you altogether. Many small appliance shops can repair these. However, in many dept. stores, I have seen turntables that you can buy separately to replace one that has gone out, just in case you're not ready to replace the microwave yet. Hope this is useful in helping you with your issue. Have a wonderful evening!
