The Tv turns off automatically after a couple minutes (LCT2785TA
The model is LCT2785TA and it turns off automatically after I turn it on for a couple minutes. I am using a receiver from Directv, so I was originally using RCA cables, then I tried the S-video cable from the receiver to the TV, and it worked perfectly for some hours, then I turned it off, and when I turned it on again, the same problem happened. Thanks for your ideas

If you do not have poor solder connections or any Bad capacitors that are swollen or puffed up on Top ,Then you will need to replace the Main Board/ The one that has your tuner and Av jacks.Capacitors 1000uf 16v 220uf 330uf 10v. Encompass Parts Distribution might have board in stock 1-800-638-3328
Sounds like the power supply is going out. Could have been shorted when there was a power surge. You using a power conditioner or surge protector???
Could be be due to overheating as well. Try to clean the outside casing and the inside using a can or compressed air. I don't think it is overheating but you never know and many home electronics turn have to avoid being damaged once they get hot enough.
Let me know any additional info and we can try to figure it out..
Thanks and hope to get you watching TV again soon!!!
Have you tried any other input?? how is the DirecTV box working???
The reasons why I ask about the surge protector is that if you had a power (lightening, power drop and sudden reset) it could have fried the power supply but this is unlikely since it is only when you connect to S-Video but still a possibility.
Its still a good thing to keep use so the purchase is not bad but sorry if you did not want it.
Are you confident with opening the TV?? this may be something a tech has to see. Let me know about what other inputs on it and how they are working. It could be a short in the video and may only be on the S-Video so you may be able to go around paying a tech or opening it yourself if its the case
