The Wii Remote for the second player does not work. Once in awhile the blue lights flash. We have tried to follow the instructions for synchonizing the remote with the console. And we have put in fresh batteries. But it still does not work. It did work the first day we had the set

Our grandson emailed the solution.
Turn on the Wii and open the game menu.
Click on the Home button.
Click on the Wii remote settings at the bottom of the screen.
Press "Reconnect" and then hold 1 and 2 on both remotes.
We will have to follow these steps every time we want to use the Wii.
It seems like a 'bother', but it works. At least so far.
