The wooden handle is loose. This knife has never been used but has been in the box for 5 years. Can the handle be repaired inexpensively?

Need to know if there is a reason to try to repair knive. It was represented to be an expensive knife. It looks to be a "Birds Eye" maple handle. Help is appreciated.
