In order to disarm the alarm system, you need a tech 2 computer (usually Saab indy repair shops or Saab dealers only will have this very expensive computer and the flash cards needed) in order to change the programming in the TWICE theft alarm computer so the vehicle thinks it is not equipped with an alarm system. Two other more expensive options are replacing the entire module, or cutting the module open and replacing the internal batteries.

Remove the left front fender, I performed this while the car was on a lift just in case you do not have a lift you will have to remove the wheel also, remove theft module there is a water proof seal so you will need a razor once remove you will need to desolider the old battery (You can order the replacement battery from this site www.needbattery.com model # cr 17335se-ft) once remove solider in replacement when closing theft module I recommend resealing module with a sealent.

I made the cheap mistake in ordering the battery with out the tabs which work for a short time because I could not get a connection

This is a known issue with the security unit that is located in front of the drivers wheel well. This is common and it is due to the rechargeable batteries in the unit. I tried to fix mine with replacement batteries, but exact replacements can not be found. It worked for about 6 months, then the same thing. I pulled the unit and the SID display's service theft alarm. This can be disabled as mentioned above, but will probably cost for a TECH II to be connected by a dealer / indy that has one.

I am going to wire up the unit and bring wires into the engine compartment and have a set of rechargeable batteries that can be easily replaced. This seems to be the current acceptable solution. You have to take the unit out, apart (tricky) and take the old batteries out and then wire it up......

Else, get a new unit from the dealer.

To remove have to remove the wheel, pull back the wheel well cover, unbolt the unit and unplug it.

This is what I had to do today after being up all night. I am not kidding I was up every 15 minutes. My neighbors hate me...... and I am exhausted.... Pull the horn relay! It is in front of the battery in the fuse box. There is a diagram on the inside of the fuse box and in your manual you will find what number relay to pull. I believe it is 2. Saab is unable to get it in to fix it.They are booked until next week. I noticed that the lights are still flashing here and there; however, it is quite....Now I need to work on the neighbors...
