Is there is a lock and unlock button, press and hold the unlock button for up to 15 seconds.

This is a child lock feature.
Without an exact model # i cannot tell you the unlock procedure - however usually pressing and holding a button on the panel for 5 seconds will unlock.
The button usually has a lock printed on or near it as well.
