There is a yellow ''swoop'' in the upper left portion of the tv and shadowing. The ''magic focus'' does not resolve the problem. When I try to adjust manually, the grid shows arched lines (''swoops'' along the left portion of the grid that eventually line up. For the most part the picture looks ok but Oprah has purple hair and eyebrows. Depending on the picture, the ''swoop'' at the top of the screen changes color
Hi, Sounds like you have a bad convergence circuit, it's what lines up your picture so the colors are correct. Most brands (excluding RCA) use the same basic design. There are 2 big ICs called STKs that normally fail, some resistors or fuses may also go. Its about $300-$400 bucks to have someone repair it.
