Sorry for a very late reply. Your concern was just recently brought to my attention.
Basically, for a Clarion VRX935VD to work outside of a vehicle, there are 4 wires that must be connected other than the speaker/amp connections. These are:
Red - to the +12 supply (normally an ACC/IGN B+12 in the car);
Yellow - to the +12 supply (normally an always on B+12 in the car);
Black - to the GND or - of powersupply or battery; and
Grass Green - switching negative (normally to the parking brake switch in the car).
