Thermostat back light problem
I'm having the same issue. Please let me know if you find out how to turn it off. Ours is like a beacon in the night. My husband has been placing a baseball cap over it until we can figure it out.

You need the installation manual which can be downloaded at
http://yourhome.honeywell.com/Consumer/Cultures/en-US/Products/Thermostats
go to setting 280 which sets the backlight options and select option 0 which turns on the backlight for 8 seconds when a button is pushed and then turns off.
This info is not in the owners manual, only the installation manual.
