Does the furnace blower come on? If it does there is something wrong with the outdoor unit. Go outside and see if the unit outside is not running check to make sure the breaker is on and there is power to the outdoor unit. If there is power at the outdoor unit, the capacitor may be bad. Disconnect the power to the outdoor unit and open the electrical panel. there is a round or oval silver cylinder inside. If it is bulged at the top where the wires are connected, that is a true sign of failure. Take it out and take it to your local HVAC wholsaler or contractor and have it replaced. It should be around 30 dollars for it and its a simple and very common problem. If this does not fix it, I would call your local NATE certified technician to come take a look at it.
