Think I am fighting a virus. When I install the fx5300. the system starts to hang the mouse and keyboard. If I remove the card the problem the problem persist. If I reformat the drive problem goes away. can there be a virus stored on the fx5300?

Nope there is no permanent storage on the card for a virus
but you might want to get the latest driver and this site http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us
