This is FixyAaaaaaAAAAAAaaa
Hey Az,
I'd like you to consider a few things. Let you in on some of the history and such .
I've only been here since June, getting on four months. If you ever checked my profile out, you found I have a few Premiums solutions with only one paying. As a rule, I don't really pursue them. There is also only the single chat. That's it for standard income. The currency FixYa provides that I do chase are ratings. I've been hovering between 90% - 91%. They are important to me.
The way you answered some of your solutions, you can expect good ratings too.
Although there is competition, I don't consider this a game in that I'm not playing against anyone (but myself I guess). Helping people, the need to be needed, to be of service are all factors in what drives me.
Some of the Experts you are interacting with have been here for years. Call them the Core Experts, the Super Guru's, whatever. They have seen things change and seen them stay the same.
Consider the centuries of experience they represent. When they try to give you advice, they are telling you they see potential, they are showing respect. They would otherwise ignore your posts. Listen to what they say, let it sink in. Even their jokes have underlying meaning. read between the lines.
They have a wealth of information available for the asking. They are the veterans here. Don't talk down to them as if they were the new guys.
Everyone (mostly) is trying to improve the site. Fixya is finally doing something about it. But there are thousands of Experts signed up here. Lauren is not only the community manager, she is the liason between us and Fixya. It is inappropriate to go around her to contact Fixya. It undermines her and pisses other people off. It reduces your credibility in the eyes of your peers.
To those who have made ignoring us an art form, no matter how well you write, you are just another annoying nickname.
Sure you stand out in the crowd here. But you need to be in the crowd to notice. They aren't.
If you want to be part of the Fixya development team, apply for a job there.
Your comments in the lounge fluctuate between insightfully helpful and constructive to outright destructive rants. They seem to be cycling. I feel you have the best intentions, but your rants negate the positive contributions you make.
I've tried to give you hints to guide you out of the funky side, some subtle, others, not so much. You've obviously got talent and brains. But somethings up and it needs to be handled. I know it, you know it. I'd really like to see the great things you will accomplish. So handle it. Be all you can be.
After all:
THIS IS FIXYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Mike , I spent 15 years started in 1995 in yahoo chat computer lobby 1 gettin kicked around a bit , I'm battle ready. I can tell you that FixYa! is alot less brutal on me than that experience.
in the computers lobby:1 of yahoo chat things are real time , if you get a wrong answer you get booted.
I'm thinkin at this point I could walk away a winner at FixYa! , that would be a good move for me,
because walking away a winner is better than not winning at all.
I have posted over 500 solutions in less than 2 weeks , I could stomp the holy livin **** out of these gurus if I wanted, but whats important to me is knowing that someone out there like you knows I'm alive and knows I exist , I do hope you noticed I kept you out of the bad stuff , I guess we tv technicians have a different creedo than the others.
we are a special thing , I want you to know you are really something to me because I was younger I'm 38 , I was younger working in the television shops learning the biz.
I want better for you than what happened to me , most of the people that trained me are no longer living mike , thats not a good thing in the biz ....
what I see as a future for you is computers , I see you doing things in computer beyond television repair , they make tuners for computers now , all these televisions being sold are prety much obsolete.
dont' get me wrong I trust my CRT over some piece of **** LCD screen or Plasma
but I bet you already know that.
I just wanted to stop by again and tell you those things so you'll know more ...
