Thread won't stay in discs and under tension spring
I've checked the overall threading many times. It seems correct. But as I sew, the thread gets really slack and then comes out of the routing that's where the thread is routed under the discs that are part of the takeup spring. Once this happens, the thread gets on the back side of the discs, gets stuck, and then breaks. I can't figure out how to keep the thread routed under the takeup spring.

On the first set of spring loaded tensioner plates there is a small bar that comes out straight at you. Bring the thread over this bar before heading down to the next catch. Also make sure you do not have dirt in between the plates. The only other possibility is the tension release is easing the thread tension while sewing. (like your knee hits the foot lift or the whole foot lift is too tightly assembled
