Ticking sound with external Rode mic + sony ax53. Changes speed - like a leaky faucet. Def inside the circuit - not a mechanical sound from the environment. Not there with built-in mic. Suggestions?
Might be motor-boating. Used to be a fairly common fault with older less sophisticated circuitry. The cause could be anything from a fault in an interim power supply to stray feedback causing an oscillation with a low speed harmonic.
