Timer works but No Go
We inherited an MW8168B with the house that we purchased and it worked. However, recently it's developed some problem. The timer works and it's primed to go, but it doesn't turn on.
It started by working if we held the door button partially in, but now it doesn't go at all.
I took off the cover and checked things out. The top door interlock (szm-v16-fa-63) had burned looking insulation around the terminal connector. Is there a surefire way to check that this is the problem?
If it's the problem, I've found a new one for an LG, which is the same part number. Is it safe to order this?
If one is blown is it likely that the other two are also ready to go or gone?
Thanks for your answers.

Had the exact same problem on my Mom and Dads Whirpool microwave. The szm-v16-fa-63 interlock switch basically burned out. That switch must be closed in order for the motor to rotate and for the magnetron to radiate the heat. Took it out and tested it with my multimeter and the switch provided only intermittent continuity when button was pressed. A new one is around $3 (USD) from what I googled. I might just jump the two wires that were on each pole of the switch but that would be bypassing a safety device and is never recommended. A new switch should do the trick I think the original one has an intrinsic flaw that causes it to fail so rapidly.
When working on a microwave make sure to disconnect the magnetron and be extra carefull. When I need to test and make sure everything works I usually pop in a damp paper towel and nuke it for a few secs.
