Torque coverter, Transmission question
Hello everyone, can stationary steering in any way damage a torque coverter, or anything else in the drive train for that matter? My friend used an improper system to try and bleed air from his power steering. He turned his wheel lock to lock 15-20 times while stationary in drive gear with his tires on the ground! I already told him the strain this can put on steering parts and tires, but he said in the days since he had done that he had been noticing differences in his transmission. He didn't quite give me those details yet but he was wondering if his little exercise could have damaged anything in the power train. I know that sometimes if the break is not pressed firmly enough that when you turn while stationary you can hear the engine straining against the brakes. Could that have hurt something? I'm stumped on this one so any help would be appreciated!

No, I Don't think that damaged anything in the drive train, but that could have been done in park or neutral, not in drive.
No.It does not effect anything, the vehicle is designed to function under these circumstances, the noise is normal in the brakes.
