Toshiba 42TL515U -fan has stopped working
I am getting a message on my screen stating that the fan has stopped working and needs to be fixed and then the tv shuts off after about 30 seconds. I really can't afford to pay the crazy prices that I am getting quoted to have a repair place to just look at the issue and replace a little fan. I think I can manage to replace the fan on my own if I just know where to look.

I have spent some time searching the internet and you are not alone. However I haven't found where anyone has documented repairs. If I were you I would just remove the back and look for it. The fan may be the same as many computer fans. It probably has speed feedback. Check computer shops for replacement, Digikey.com or Newark.com
