For our Toyota Prado 2001 01, after the battery had been removed SEC was showing on the cd / tape / radio display. To remove the security SEC warning, find the last 3 digits of your VIN number (under the hood) hold down the "TUNE" button and then press "1"
Then use the numbers 1 2 and 3 to type in the last 3 digits of your VIN number.
Quickly hold down "SCAN" button, the radio will power off, then press the volume button to turn it back on.
-I accidentally held down "auto" before holding down scan, I don't think auto has any part of fixing this (just an error on my part) but if the above doesn't work, you could try hold AUTO down after entering the digits then hold scan - just as I did.
Hopefully SEC has now been removed, enjoy your radio!
You could check your car manual if that does not work i dont think there is any free way to go about it but you could try this web site http://www.radio-code.com/ToyotaPayPageradiocode.htm
