Hello If so intensity of backlight or its inverter has some trouble. It is common that the intensity of the backlight goes dim. Some of them will last long, and otheres will fail. Baclights are supplied with small inverters to get it lighted. If the inverter goes lo in frequency, dim light output will be the result. Check these. Inverters are nor repairable, and can be bought as module, and will not cost more. There are several models of inverters used for backlight, and you must have one with hand when you go for a new one, if inverter is faulty. They have specific number printed on it stating its voltage and frequency, which most of the electronic spare part delers knows. Managed to find a source for a Backlight Lamp - 2.0mm Diameter 124mm L Shape CCFL L12420 $14.95 from CCFL Warehouse. It's a little (10mm) shorter both ways than the original but can be made to fit. Works fine, like new. Your trakcer has 16 levels of backlight brightness. To change its backlight brightness do the following.
1 Press [On_OFF] briefly to show the display controls
2 The display and keys are backlit, with sixteen brightness levels. To change the backlight, press (dimmer) or > (brighter)
3 Press ENT to accept the new values.
