Transmission problem When the engine gets a little warm, not in the red, the transmission starts to slip. This has been going on for a few years and so far no one has been able to figure out why. Once the engine cools down a little the problem goes away

Your trans oil most likely needs changing. it should be changed every 50,000 mile. over time the fluid breaks down and the trans mission slips. your trans is operated by pressure and when it is hot he pressure drops because the oil is not as thick as it should be this is refered as viscoscity. In the mean time until you get it changed, you can buy an additive from Napa for around 10.00 dollars to put in the trans. it's made by Lucas Oil and it works for the slipping in the short term. please rate this
