Transmission shifts down abruptly when accelerating
We have a rebuilt transmission in a 1996 Grand Voyager which ran great for about 6 months - recently it started downshifting abruptly even when accelerating - randomly. Is this a transmission issue (it would be covered under the warranty) or a sensor problem?
Thanks.

Does it still shift in the right speed. 1st-2nd-15mph 2nd-3rd- 30mph 3rd-4th/overdrive-45mph, +/- a couple mph. if not it is a shift control cable, it's located at the throttle body and adjusted there. this should be covered under warranty. the throttle position senson also controls the shift. you can have this checked. sensors can still be within perimeters and still be bad. check with ohm meter
It most likely is a transmission issue, a internal issue inside the transmission.
