I purchased a 2001 BMW 525i. I drove the car for two days. There was no indication of the transmission slipping. It shifted gears as it should. I took the car back to the dealer because they promised to give me a new battery. Once they changed the battery the car stalled out as if the transmission has gone out. I know that transmissions usually will give some indication when it starts slipping so is there something else that could possibly be the problem before I spend a couple of grand for a new transmission?
