Traxxis Minn Kota electrical motor 55lbs thrust seems to be overheating after 1hr use
I have a Traxxis Minn Kota electrical motor 55lbs thrust 12 Volts, digital maximizer, which is approx. 5 years old. When taking it out on the water it seems to overheat after about one hour. The motor then stops and sometimes starts by itself again. When letting it cool down we can start up again and use it, but when not fully cooled off this problem persists. I just bought a new battery, but this doesn't fix the problem. Can this be fixt? What is the problem for the overheating? And most important, what can we do about this?

Not battery problem the brushes and or the bearings in motor or shaft are heating up and binding you can try lubing the bearings on unit so that their not dry as to the brushes if worn down an are heating up they would need to be replaced ---also check prop that no ebris is around shaft or behind the drop causing a drag
