Remove the back cover (there's 1 screw on the left side. Remove it, then slide back cover to the left) Look for the ribbon connector that connects the display to the circuit board. (it's about 1 inch wide) Lift up on the black part of the connector to release the ribbon. Pull it out, inspect, and then re-seat the ribbon connector. If this didn't fix your problem, try pressing lightly on the connector while looking at the screen. If the video shows up by applying pressure, find some thin rubber (or equiv.) that you can cut & glue to the top of connector. The idea here is the rubber will act as a shim when the back cover is on, pressing on the ribbon connector.
I suppose that the proper way to fix this problem is to replace the connector and maybe re-flow all the solder connections, but good luck with that!
If none of the above works for you, you might have a cracked circuit board. Again, applying light pressure to the right spot might help you find it.
