Troubleshooting no-spark DESA heater transformer
I have a Reddy 55,000 BTU Kerosene spark-plug fired heater, model R55, which has a no-spark situation. I'm trying to troubleshoot the problem and I need details on determining whether I have a grounding issue or a transformer issue. I'm concerned that my garage outlets may not have a grounded third prong (that they're just for show) and I'm not sure if this would cause a problem. With the transformer removed and "bench testing" it I'm getting these resistance values: Primary: 9.7 M ohms Secondary: 1.16 K ohms I measured 118V input with the transformer REMOVED, but I did not test the same input with the transformer installed. How should I go about testing continuity of ground and my transformer? Transformer model is 098024-04 Thanks in advance!
