Trying to find TDC 2002 4.3L vector motor. Is there air from number 1 spark plug once it hits the exhaust stroke ? However I can not line the oil pump up so it connects to the distributor shaft
0n my chevy blazer 2002 4.3L vector engine , we took the distributor out thinking it was not timed properly. Issue here Well I feel air on the exhaust stroke? When I removed the distributor , I discovered that the cam sensor was missing. It had fallen out and lodged on the block . I found it and hooked it up. Ready to reset distributor, I had the number 1 spark plug out and believed it is at TDC now. Issue is lining up oil pump to distributor.

When you know you have the distributor in the right place, push down on the distributor while someone bumps the starter until the distributor drops don't push down too hard. I hope this helps. Take care.
