Trying to replace sideview mirror on 2002 C230 Kompressor. Purchased mirror online with different plug that is suppose to fit vehicle but doesn't. Is it easy job for repair shop to do, switching wires? Called Mercedes dealership and it's almost $2000 to replace both mirrors. I paid $220 for both mirrors online. It's my daughter's vehicle and don't want to put that much into it
Hello. It depends on what features the new mirrors have as to the level of difficulty of swapping the wires. If your new mirrors have only the power adjustment feature, it should be fairly easy, however, if the new mirrors have multiple functions such as being heated and the auto fold function found on some new Kompressors, then the job will be more complicated. If the new mirrors came with a wiring diagram the job will be a bit easier, but if there is no diagram the mechanic will not know which wire on the new mirror controls which function and will spend extra time trying to determine which is which. I hope this helps with your problem, if you need any further answers please do not hesitate to ask.
