Trying to see if my husband ever changed the original engine in his 1991 C1500 chevy truck. Has 200,053 miles. He is unable to to recall due to illness
Original truck paperwork should list the engine number of the original which can be compared with the current engine number.
If the engine was changed would your husband have done the work or perhaps it was a local repair shop. They would probably keep records.
Perhaps the engine wasn't replaced but was overhauled, a process needing considerable replacement parts as well as specialist machine shop work - your husband wouldn't have travelled far for this.
Perhaps your husband kept invoices, receipts or a diary... Good luck!
