Just took a look at one of these, and its cold soldering joints on the main board. I re-soldered all the solder joints around the flyback transformer and a few other suspicious looking spots (didn't note where those spots were). Took maybe about 30-45 minutes and now the set is running great. This would cost you about 70-100 dollars at a TV repair shop. No parts required unless the protection circuits didn't kick in and burned out a component someplace.

Just fixed one the same and yes it has dry cold solder joints in the flyback area
