TV has red light but no picture. It appears to not power on
Solid red stand-by light on lower right corner when plug in TV. (it does not blink) If I press power button on the unit, the red light disappears and if I continue to press Power button ...the red light never comes back on. I have no picture or sound. TV has been in spare room for years and hardly ever used :-( It was purchased early 2014 I believe and has less than like 20 hours on it.

It probably got zapped with power. Regardless of how it broke, the first place to start is the main power supply board. Some people repair the caps, which without looking more in depth at some of the troubleshooting forums, I couldn't tell you which one is most often the culprit. It looks like the power supply boards are going for about $25 on ebay, and I would feel pretty confident replacing that at that price.
If that does not fix it, something on the main board could be "crowbarring", or sapping power from power supply from where it is needed to boot up, however, that would only be a secondary test to making sure our power supply is a good one.

i fixed the soldered a new eeprom on my mainboard and it fixed the issue for me
