TV locked Is there anyway to overide the passcode on a 46 Hitach HDTV, I cannot use any of the fuctions. in other words I have no graphics.I Is this something someone can assist me with. I just moved to a new location and my manual is packed
Televison & Video - Hitachi - 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
Pls postback the exact model number of the TV. Alternately, pls try on the original remote:
If QuickLock is activated it will lockout all video outputs and channel and channel 3 &4;
Get into the custom menu and select quick lock
Enter "0 0 0 0" as the 4 digit pass code;
turn off the parental lock feature
If the above does not work, then an internal fault has developed. On some models, the technically correct procedure would then be:
Check around the >The easiest place to gain access to the clock and >Floating these pins on IY501 and removed the "Child Lock"feature
Replace IY501;
The normal state on these two pins is 5 volts measured with a DVM, or 5 volts peak to peak with an oscilloscope;
This of course would require a fair familiarity of electronic components/circuitry and safety procedures, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. It would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
Appreciate the postback/comment and additional information on the specific model.
To your concern:
reset the unit by unplugging from the mains for a couple of hours to dissipate residual power and revert unit to factory default;
in some versions/models, there are multiple locks: child lock, channel lock, video lock, quick lock;
on the original remote;

If you've forgotten your Code. If "CHILD LOCK INCORRECT KEY NUMBER appears for a moment, it means that you have entered a wrong key number. Enter the correct number after this indication disappears. If you do not know the correct key number, enter 777. At this time your key number will be returned to the basic key number 000.
If I may comment, the information on the model number (50V569A) you posted does not jive with your initial post of a 46 Hitach HDTV, however a 50V569A would indicate a 50 incher unit or would it be a 52in HDTV as you posted here. Pls bear with me and confirm the model number at the rear of the unit. A typical 46 inch Hitachi would have a model number like 46HDX62 or CMP460V1 or combination to that effect.
Cheers.
