Two years ago I changed the size of my Culligan holding tank under the sink to a bigger unit and at the same time put in a culligan water softener that also removes chlorine. I also changed the culligan water tap. I get this white clear sludge that occasionally comes out of the tap and hangs there. It can be removed but if this is bacteria build-up this can not be good. What is the cause? Water for the entire house including the culligan system goes through the water softener minus the chlorine. Should I put in a divertor to have non softener water go to the drinking system? Or is the problem a bad tank or a bad tap? It is interesting that a neighbour has a culligan water softener that does NOT take out chlorine but still has the same guck coming from her drinking water tap on occasion. Suzanne from Ontario
