Umax PowerLook scanner lubrication
After many years of problem free operation, my PowerLook's scanning head started to jam, making grinding noise.
Using paper tissues, I cleaned the metal sliding rod with 100% alcohol.
My PowerLook works now as new.
What about lubrication?!
Should I lubricate the metal sliding rod with something?
When they were assembled, were Umax PowerLook's rods lubricated in the factory?
If yes, what lubricant was used?
My scanner works great now, but I would like to avoid some damages in the future.
I searched the web, but there are many conflicting opinions regarding the subject of scanner rod lubrication, so I couldn't come to the definitive conclusion.
