Unable to read camera on laptop to load pics
Hi,
i have a Fujifilm Finepix J37 camera which i have used with the Finepix software on my Vista laptop before. I have loaded photos from my camera previously without any issues.
Now when i follow the same process the camera doesnt seem to be recognised at all? I click on Load Photos - the next step is to connect the camera and turn it on....so i need to wait for photos to be displayed but nothing happens?
when i turn the camera on the laptop does make a noise that suggests that it has been connected correctly
i have tried unistalling the software and installing it again but to no avail...i have also deleted the ghost usb items from device manager
any ideas????
many thanks

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
