Unable to remove seat to replace batteries
I have a Shoprider Sprinter XL4 (circa 1996) and am unable to remove the seat to replace the batteries. The manual says :-
Seat Removal (Fig. 7)
Fold down the back of the seat. Pull up the red swivel seat adjustment lever (fig. 6) and lift seat off. Remove the hand knob and locking pin that secures the seat adaptor. Lift the seat adaptor out of the seat post.
My swivel seat adjustment does not release the seat, neither do I have any seat hight adjustment or locking pin visable. The square seat post will not slide upwards to release the seat. Any Ideas please?

Sometimes it just takes two really strong people to remove these seats. Especially if it is that old. I`m not saying damage the chair, but i`ve had some that were almost impossible to remove.
First because of the age of the scooter, try some WD40 underneath the seat where it swivels. As for the locking pin, it might be underneath the shroud cover under the black protective rubber that goes around the seat post. The locking pin is chrome or gold colored and about 3 inches long.
Thanks for your reply 'dromtonpa', you are so right on the money.
I did get the seat off by inserting a coldchisel between it and the seat post tube and whacking it with a hammer to brake the seizure. However it still required a lever between the seat and the cover and allot of waggling to finally remove the seat.
