Under cabinet kitchen hood
Hi Experts,
I'm looking for a top performing under cabinet kitchen hood to **** off all the smoke and grease from my stir fry cooking. I'm leaning towards the 850 CFM Zephyr Typhoon AK2136AS. Any reviews, recommendations or advise will be higly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Samy.

Hello Samanmoh
This is a very good choice. Personally I would strongly consider it for a good combination between price and performance. One of the features that I like the most is the halogen lights shining down. The hood is not as quite as a salesperson might have you believe , but the sound is not loud by any means.
I also like the self cleaning function , as this is a pain to do otherwise and all removable parts are dishwasher friendly so you can just pop it in when you need to clean it. Its a good brand to buy with very little negative feedback online or by word of mouth , and the AK2136AS is one of the best hoods you can buy at the moment.
Do you do a lot of cooking? I'm asking because your going for the 850CFM unit. If you don't normally cook a lot of things at the same time, a 650-700CFM unit will do just as good. Just remember that the more air your sucking in , the more noise you are going to be getting.
Overall , I would say it's an excellent buy and I think that you would be happy with it.
I will post some reviews and comments in 5 minutes if you want to have a look at it.
If you have any questions , please comment and I will respond as best I can.
Kind Regards
Stephan
If you cook alot , then the capacity is good for you. The self cleaning is (lets face it) never perfect but it does help a lot to get the most grease in one place for removal and it's pretty good at that.
Efficiency wise , baffle filter types are about the same , but for cleaning , I don't like cleaning baffle filters and if they aren't clean , they don't work either and you have to clean the whole kitchen after a few days.
The hotel where I worked , had massive baffle filters and I hated cleaning them. The exhaust type is much easier to clean.
Was there anything else you wanted to know or with which I can assist you?
