Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the majority of universal remotes are generic models made from a standard set of codes, so in many cases the codes wont work when they are meant to, be it because its meant for a different software version or it simply wont send a recognizable signal to your units IR sensor. The best bet is to either source a replacement reccomended by the company that makes the product or to sell it and buy a new one with a working remote. Sorry.
