Usb device not detected mouse
Hi, I'm troubleshooting my daughter's (HP [Compaq] Presario v3000) laptop. The mouse stopped working. OS is Win XP. I think the there is an issue with the device not being detected. I'm an application software engineer but not a Win or a PC geek. I'm hunting all over the Net trying to find something that provide the key to this.

Try a new mouse or try the current mosue with another PC that will give u a fare idea of what's wrong...if the mosue is ok then it should work in another PC else, u nned to get a a new mouse...
another option is to buy a new PS2 mouse that can go into the external keyboard/mouse point behind the laptop, that way if there is an issue with ur USB port it will be known...
