USB mouse won't work under XP in a dual boot Ubuntu GRUB 1.5
I had inherited a system with dual os - Windows XP and SUSE Linux.
It uses GRUB to handle dual boot between os. I am a newbie to linux and I decided to install Ubuntu 8.0.4 becuase I do not have administrator password. Furthermore, I have a Logitech Easy call usb mouse and keyboard with speakerphone which worked fine before installing Ubuntu. The problem I now get with Ubuntu and XP is my Logitech mouse won't work under XP but work ok under ubuntu. What can possibly be wrong?
I have to installed a ps2 Microsoft mouse to be able to continue using XP and I am able to use my Logitech mouse under Linux. Does GRUB 1.5 disable my usb mouse? I tried using a different Logitech usb mouse and reinstalled drivers in Windows to no success.

I too have noticed this - I found a converter to attach my USB mouse to the old serial port. I dont know if this will get around the problem. This is what happens to me: I have 2 dual boot XP and Ubuntu computers. Sometimes, the computer starts up into windows, (I have it for games) and the mouse is just frozen. One one computer, when I go back to Ubuntu and then back to windows, the mouse will go again! On the other computer at first it was fine, then I attached a different mouse. It froze in windows. So I reattached the original mouse. It is now frozen in windows - works fine in ubuntu, frozen in windows and will not go at all. How *****! I just have a feeling (yeah, thats a great way to go with computers, I know) that it's not a driver issue. Here's hoping that the old connection gets me around the problem!
