Usb not recognized
I OWNED A TOSHIBA LAPTOP (SATELLITE A-135) MY ENTIRE MACHINE WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL ONE DAY ALL OF THE U-S-B PORTS STOP RECOGNIZING ANYTHING. THIS IS REALLY A BAD SITUATION BECAUSE I NEED THE PORTS FOR MY EVERYDAY WORK. I KNOW THEY ARE NOT BUSTED BECAUSE I CAN STILL PLUG MY CELL PHONE AND CHARGE. WELL I HAVE TRIED TO ERASE THE PORTS FROM THE DEVICE MANAGER AND NOTHING, THE REGISTRY AND NOTHING, FORMATTING AND EVEN THE FAMOUS TURN OFF AND UNPLUG THE ENERGY SORT IN FACT I LEFT IT WITHOUT POWER (WITHOUT THE BATTERY) FOR THREE DAYS AND NOTHING I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP ME

Try to load the BIOS defaults. Tap F2 when you turn it on. On the system setup screen, press F9 to load defaults. F10 to save and exit.it might not work on vista but u can try this
try uninstall and reinstall the USB driver. Start Menu>Control Panel>Device Manager>Universal Hub Controller, right click the driver and then click uninstall. then restart your computer so that it may reinstall your driver. Toshiba laptops in the past have supplied only about 100ma (rather than the 500ma usually available) at the USB ports. (That's to make the battery hold its charge longer.)I definitely can not guarantee that a powered hub will solve the problem. You might make arrangements to borrow one.try and perform allthe steps above and try and reinstall the operating system also if still it doesnt work then definately replace the motherboard or take it to the local technician and tell him to replace the motherboard......hope this will work
