You need to make sure your USB output is FAT32 system. If you are trying to transfer to an external hard drive or the HDD in your computer system, you'll need to right click> properties, and check whether it is NTFS or FAT32/16. If it is NTFS, that's yor problem. and you will need to format the drive.
This probably means there is a connection problem to your USB device you are connecting to the output. I would first try another cable, and if that still doesn't work then I would open the case (if not under warranty) and look around the USB connector on the board. Look for any cold joints in the solder and I would actually resolder those pins to the board. You can remove solder with desoldering braid (Radio Shack) and then apply new solder with lead-free rosin core electrical solder.
