Using alternate Ethernet adapter
A lightning strike burnt out the onboard Ethernet adapter so I have added a plug-in adapter. What do I need to do to get the system to recognize the adapter and use it instead of the dead, onboard Ehternet?

You should first restart computer, then go to BIOS settings and disable the onboard adapter. Then boot up windows and install drivers for the new adapter and it should work. If that doesn't help, please ask for more help here.
